Affirmative Action Verification Department (DV)

The Affirmative Action Verification Department (DV) is responsible for coordinating and carrying out the verification procedures related to the self-declarations of applicants seeking admission to UFSC through affirmative action policies, incuding students, faculty, and staff.

Guided by attentive listening, responsibility, and commitment to rights, DV acts as a social control body for affirmative action policies, ensuring that reserved places are allocated to their intended beneficiaries. It also coordinates institutional actions, proposes regulatory improvements, promotes training initiatives, and manages the scheduling and documentation of verification processes.

DV is structured into a coordination office and three verification services:

  • Verification Service for Low-Income Applicants;
  • Verification Service for Black, Indigenous, Quilombola, and Refugee Applicants;
  • Verification Service for Applicants with Disabilities, Transgender Applicants, and Applicants from Public Schools.
