Verification Department (DV)

The Verification Department (DV) directs, plans, organizes and controls services, programs and actions concerning the verification procedures for admission at UFSC through Affirmative Action.

The verification of the self-identification statements of applicants seeking admission to UFSC through Affirmative Action is an important social control tool, as it seeks to guarantee that the Affirmative Action seats are occupied by their target audience. For each type of seat reservation, there is a specific verification process.

DV is structured into a coordination office and three verification services:

  • Affirmative Action Verification Coordination Office;
  • Verification Service for low-income people;
  • Verification Service for black  and indigenous people;
  • Verification Service for people with disabilities, transgender people, and people who studied in public schools.
